Scotland & Ireland: Deirdre of the Sorrows

SSC

Kenneth Steven’s sequence of poems retells the story of Deirdre, likely
to have its roots in the Iron Age.

Deirdre and her lover Naoise fled
from Eireann to what we know today as Argyll, finding sanctuary there
before being tragically lured back to their homeland.

The sequence is, at its heart, formed around this great love story shared by Scotland and
Ireland.

With harp accompaniment by Bill Taylor, playing new music specifically composed for this production by Hilary de Vries.
